Dr. James Robertson Jr. Make a Difference Award

In loving memory of Dr. James Robertson Jr., the Dr. James Robertson Memorial Fund was established in 2012 to honor his contribution to the Texas A&M Rangel College of Pharmacy. The Dr. James Robertson Jr. Make a Difference Award may be disbursed to an individual student, small group, or student organization that has plans to use the funds to make a difference in the lives of patients or students through a college event or in the community. Driven by the spirit of leadership and professionalism, students who wish to leave a lasting legacy through making a difference in the lives of those around them are encouraged to apply.

Number of Awards and Award Amount
Two awards
$2,500 (to be disbursed into 2 payments)

 

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Be an individual, small group, or student organization applying for funds to be used toward making a difference in the lives of patients or students through a college event or in the community.
  • Demonstrate leadership in community and school activities.
  • Maintain a full-time status for the academic year 2018-2019.
  • Be on professional and academic good standing with the Rangel College of Pharmacy if applying individually or in a small group.

 

Submission requirements

  1. A written proposal describing how these funds would be used to make a difference at the college or in the community.
  2. A letter of recommendation from a pharmacist or faculty member.
  3. Budget proposal with spending details (use attached excel template)
  4. An application. (If applying for the award as a small group or student organization, only submit one application.)

The required supporting documents must be uploaded at the time the completed application is submitted in order to be considered.

Please submit your application and supporting materials by July 16, 2018 by 5 p.m.  Scholarship recipients will be notified in late August 2018.  Awarded funds will need to be used to make a difference in the lives of patients or students through a college event or in the community during the 2018-2019 academic year.
