Scholarships

With the generous support of donors, several scholarships are made available each year to students enrolled at the Texas A&M Irma Lerma Rangel College of Pharmacy. The college notifies professional student pharmacists at least one month in advance of the application cycle. Included in this notification will be the number of awards available and the amount of the award. The college and the scholarship recipients appreciate the support and generosity of the donors who contributed to these awards.

The Rangel College of Pharmacy offers the following scholarships:

Bexar County Pharmacy Association Endowed Scholarship
Available to first-year professional student pharmacists of Bexar County who have an excellent academic record and demonstrated leadership in community and school activities. 

CVS Caremark Charitable Trust Scholarship
Available in the fall to any pharmacy student enrolled at the Rangel College of Pharmacy. 

CVS Health Foundation Pharmacy School Grants Program
Available to any professional student pharmacist enrolled in the program. 

Debra Lanell Wood ’01 and Raymond Wood Endowed Scholarship
Available in the fall to any professional student pharmacist enrolled in the program. 

D.D. Hachar Charitable Trust and the Lamar-Bruni Vergara Endowed Scholarship
Available in the fall and spring to any professional student pharmacist enrolled in the program. This endowed scholarship fund was established in honor of D.D. Hachar. 

Dr. James Robertson Jr. Memorial Scholarship
Available in the spring to second-, third- or fourth-year professional student pharmacists. This endowed scholarship was established in memory of Dr. James Robertson Jr. through student-led events and generous donations. 

Dr. Martin Farias, III Memorial Scholarship
Available in the spring to all pharmacy students enrolled at the Rangel College of Pharmacy. This endowed scholarship was established to honor Dr. Martin Farias, III's memory and contributions to the college.

Estill Foundation Scholarship
Available in fall to fourth-year professional student pharmacists. This scholarship is supported by the Estill Foundation.

Moore’s Pharmacy Inc./Texas Pharmacy Foundation Endowed Scholarship
Available in the fall to second-, third- or fourth-year professional student pharmacists.  

P.M. Rangel Family Endowed Scholarship
Available in the fall to any professional student pharmacist enrolled in the program. This endowed scholarship was established in honor of Irma Lerma Rangel, the founder of the college.

Safeway Scholarship
Available in the spring to any first- and second-year professional student pharmacists, however, preference is given to current Safeway interns or employees. 

Tarrant County Pharmacy Association Endowed Scholarship
Available in the fall to a resident of Tarrant County (preferred), the DFW Metroplex (second preference), or the state of Texas, and is awarded to a professional student pharmacists entering the second or third year of the program. 

Technology Scholarship
Available in the spring to any professional student pharmacist to help purchase a laptop or other electronic device.

Walgreens Diversity & Inclusion Excellence Scholarship
Available in the spring to any professional student pharmacist enrolled in the program who embrace and promote diversity and inclusion awareness initiatives on campus. 

Walgreens Diversity Scholarship
Available in the spring to any professional student pharmacist enrolled in the program who represents a diverse group or underrepresented minority.

Additional Scholarships

Dallas Area Pharmacy Association Scholarship
Available to Dallas-area professional student pharmacists pursuing a career in pharmacy.   

National Association of Boards of Pharmacy and American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy (NABP-AACP) District 6 Scholarship 
Available in the fall to second-, third- or fourth-year professional student pharmacists.  

Scholarship for Disadvantaged Students
This scholarship is supported by a grant from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services - Health Resources and Services Administration awarded to the Rangel College of Pharmacy. The funds from this scholarship are intended to supplement the educational costs of those students who qualify, providing much-needed financial assistance.      

Walmart Scholarships
Available to any professional student pharmacist enrolled in the program.
