Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences
Welcome to the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences!
The Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences consists of faculty members with Ph.D. degrees and expertise in biochemistry, microbiology, physiology, pharmacology (pharmacokinetics / pharmacodynamics), pharmaceutics, medicinal chemistry, molecular biology, immunology, genetics, as well as the social and behavioral sciences. All faculty members are involved in classroom and laboratory instruction in the four-year professional pharmacy (Pharm.D.) curriculum. The pharmaceutical sciences faculty members work together with the clinical faculty in highly integrated courses as well as participate in other research/scholarship endeavors. The Department has 11 research laboratories, a core laboratory that houses several pieces of common-use equipment and a vivarium facility. Faculty members in the Department are engaged in teaching and research collaborations with scientists from other components at TAMHSC, TAMUK, other national institutions, and industry. The research activities of the Department are supported by extramural funding. Post-doctoral researchers, Ph.D. students in the pharmaceutical sciences, undergraduate students, and research associates assist in the research enterprise. The graduate program in pharmaceutical sciences is currently administered by the School of Graduate Studies at the Texas A&M Health Science Center. Faculties are also located in College Station where they engage in teaching, research at the Biopharmaceutical Consortium and service activities.
