Faculty position in Pharmaceutical Sciences
The Texas A&M Irma Lerma Rangel College of Pharmacy invites applicants for a tenure track faculty position in pharmaceutics with 12 month appointment in College Station, Texas. Faculty rank (assistant professor or associate professor) and salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Responsibilities will include development of formulation design and development of facilities at college station, advancement of clinical practice support by collaborations and rapid assessment of post-marketing performance of drug products, delivering didactic education in pharmaceutics to professional and graduate students, and service activities of the college. Additional responsibilities will include: initiating and actively participating in a research program in their area of interest, preferably in collaboration with other faculty members at the university; developing and maintaining a sustainable formulations research program that demonstrates a high level of scholarly activity; providing professional leadership and support to matriculating PharmD and graduate students; and enabling an educational environment which fosters educational excellence and productive research. Start-up funds will be provided and the faculty member will have individual laboratory space and access to core laboratory space for formulations development and evaluation in the Rangel College of Pharmacy.
Successful candidates will have: earned a PhD in pharmaceutics or industrial pharmacy with a demonstrated ability of problem solving with extensive publications in dosage form development and evaluation, demonstrated experience of teaching in a pharmacy program, evidence of teaching and a record of successful research (publications and grants); Demonstration of understanding of modern manufacturing science principles with process analytical technology, quality by design, 3-D printing, big data management in pharmaceutical development.
Candidates with post-doctoral research experience, previous experience of teaching doctorate of pharmacy (PharmD) students, a pharmacy background, and a track record of effective scholarship and research interests that complement the formulations design and development strengths of the Rangel College of Pharmacy will be given a preference.
