Future StudentsHowdy! Welcome to the Texas A&M Irma Lerma Rangel College of Pharmacy future student page. We are delighted you are here and encourage you to read more about the College and the Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) program we offer.

The Texas A&M Rangel College of Pharmacy offers a four year Pharm.D. program that is fully accredited by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE). Since opening in 2006, the College has grown to include two campuses, Kingsville and College Station, and has climbed in the best colleges and schools of pharmacy rankings compiled by the U.S. New & World Report.

As the first health professions program established south of San Antonio, the Texas A&M Rangel College of Pharmacy proudly pursues its mission to recruit and train talented and caring pharmacists who provide excellent patient care and serve as catalysts for advancing the practice of pharmacy. Students enrolled in our program begin applying what they have learned in the classroom in their second year by participating in community practice and hospital pharmacy rotations. This experiential learning continues in the third year and culminates with completing at least six, six week rotations during the fourth year. In addition to our strong experiential training program, students at the Texas A&M Rangel College of Pharmacy have the distinct advantage of an 8-to-1 student-to-faculty ratio, allowing for greater faculty and student interactions.

Future students may be accepted into the Kingsville or College Station campus of the Texas A&M Rangel College of Pharmacy; both of which have unique training and educational opportunities. The Kingsville campus is located at Texas A&M University-Kingsville (TAMUK) and the College Station campus is located at Texas A&M University. Both campuses offer a wide-range of student services, extra-curricular activities and student organizations.

Aspects of our Pharm.D. program to consider when deciding on a pharmacy school:

  • Low tuition and fees – compare our tuition and fees to other programs and you will see we are affordable.
  • High quality education – while our tuition and fees are low, the quality of our program is high – the Texas A&M Rangel College of Pharmacy is fully accredited by the ACPE and highly ranked by the U.S. News and World Report.
  • Our progress since opening in 2006 – the Texas A&M Rangel College of Pharmacy has grown to include a second campus, been fully accredited, and achieved its U.S. News and World Report ranking in just 10 years. Our future is bright!
  • Experiential education begins early – our Pharm.D. program incorporates experiential learning early in the curriculum. Students begin practicing what they learn and adding to their clinical skills during their second year in mentored community and hospital pharmacy rotations.
  • Interprofessional education – students enrolled in our program have opportunities to train with and learn from other health professions students (e.g., medical students) while participating in interprofessional courses and health fairs.
  • Student support – all students have a faculty advisor, who meet with them regularly to discuss their academic and professional progress.

We are excited that you are considering the Texas A&M Irma Lerma Rangel College of Pharmacy to pursue your pharmacy education and encourage you to contact us at cop-admissions@pharmacy.tamhsc.edu if you have any questions. Become a part of the Aggie Family and apply today!
