2014 Rho Chi Initiation
The Rho Chi Society, which gives professional recognition in the field of pharmacy to students for academic excellence, initiated 16 students and one faculty member to its Gamma Omega Chapter April 3, 2014, at the Caesar Kleberg Wildlife Center.
The Texas A&M Irma Lerma Rangel College of Pharmacy chapter also presented Russell Melchert, Ph.D., R.Ph., professor and dean of the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Pharmacy, to the students and faculty who shared his experiences as a pharmacy leader in “The Best of Times.”
Candidates for induction must complete at least half of their didactic pharmacy doctorate degree program and place within the Top 20 percent of their class.
The Class of 2016 inductees included: Stephen Arriola of El Paso, Texas; Jennifer Barrow of San Antonio; Jose Garcia of Kingsville, Texas; Javier Garza of Rio Grande City, Texas; Andrew Gonzales of Corpus Christi, Texas; Ruth Gonzalez of Eagle Pass, Texas; Chelsea Krueger of Plano, Texas; Daniela Mancha of Laredo, Texas; Uche Mbadugha of Corpus Christi; An Nguyen of Friendswood, Texas; Ann Nguyen of Dallas; Adaku Onwubuya of Houston; Brittany Robinson of San Benito, Texas; Hee Ruy; and Kaitlin Tollinger of Garden Ridge, Texas. Faculty member Andrea M. Luce, Pharm.D., assistant professor of pharmacy practice, was inducted into the chapter.
The new officers for the 2014-2015 year are: Chelsea Krueger, president, Aduku Onwubuya, vice president, Uche Mbabugha, secretary, Stephen Arriola, treasurer, and Jose Garcia, historian.
