With more than 15 years of professional media experience, she serves in the role of communications director for the Texas A&M Rangel College of Pharmacy in Kingsville, Texas. In addition to communications, she is certified through NAFSA: Association of International Educators as the Designated School Official. She served as the news adviser for the daily student newspaper at Texas A&M University, The Battalion, from October 2006 to November 2012. The newspaper staff received the 2008 Associated Collegiate Press Newspaper Pacemaker and multiple collegiate design and society of professional journalists awards. She taught community journalism and editing at Texas A&M University-Commerce while working as an assistant news editor for The Dallas Morning News. At the Morning News, she was in charge of designing and editing the Sunday front page, special sections and centerpieces. She also worked on the daily publication designing and editing the front page, metro section and wire pages. In her position, she worked as a liaison between photography, graphics, metro editors and the news desk to create unity in packaging and presentation. She also worked for The San Antonio Express-News, The Arlington Morning News, Altoona (Pa.) Mirror and the Denton Record-Chronicle.
