Prior to joining the college, he was the  Commanding Officer of USNAV Fleet Hospital Detachment D.  Concurrently, he served as the Director of Pharmacy at Spohn Hospital in Corpus Christi, Texas, and instructor at Del Mar College in Corpus Christi, Texas, for pharmacy technicians. He is a founding faculty member of two colleges of pharmacy, Texas A&M Rangel College of Pharmacy and Midway College of Pharmacy in Kentucky.  As a dedicated health care professional at Texas A&M, he enlisted the voluntary assistance of pharmacy preceptors, who agreed to receive and train students at a variety of professional sites to develop the knowledge, skills, attitudes and values, which prepares each student for pharmacy practice.
