Office of Student Affairs
The mission of the Office of Student Affairs is to facilitate student academic success, career development, and personal growth for pharmacy students through the development and implementation of programs and processes encompassing academics and scholarship, advising, recruitment, and retention. Advising efforts consist of proactive, interactive, and holistic approaches to addressing academic and personal concerns of students. The emphasis in working with students is on providing supportive guidance to assist their decision-making processes.
An advisor advises students about their academic decisions. It is important for students to meet regularly with their advisors to ensure that they are fulfilling their requirements and developing strategies and practices for academic success. An advisor is a resource for College and university support in academic growth and development. An advisor shares considered options for extracurricular choices, volunteer service experiences, or student employment issues.
Career development and personal growth activities are important and dynamic of the pharmacy profession. They vary and include topics related to the integration of academic success, personal assessment, career exploration, job searches, professional practice transition activities/programs in classes, student group activities, and alumni/industry presentations.
