Teaching Interests
Dr. Palakurthi is interested in teaching in physicochemical and biopharmaceutical principles and their application in design and evaluation of conventional dosage forms as well as novel drug delivery systems including nanoparticles. Currently three graduate students are working in his laboratory towards their Ph.D. degree.
Research Interests
Dr. Palakurthi’s research is funded by the National Institutes of Health and the Department of Defense, and focuses on design of novel polymers for gene therapy, polymer-based nanoparticles for targeted delivery of chemotherapeutics for the treatment of ovarian cancer, mucosal delivery of chemotherapeutics and antigens and cellular trafficking of nanoconstructs.
